One of the interdisciplinary courses offered this summer at UST, taught by Dr. Lim, this course focused on the sustainability of the Mississippi River. Geared toward non-science majors, it “provides the focal point for an integrated exploration of the scientific disciplines of astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. The past and present human impact on the water and land is also explored, including environmental and life style sustainability issues.” The students that took this course learned a lot about the sustainability of a resource that is close to home.
